Upper Norwood Extended Schools Cluster
Extended Schools Information

We're into the final term of this year - time just flies! Welcome to the Upper Norwood Extended Schools Cluster (UNESC) web-site - exciting  things are (nearly) always happening ......!

As you know, these are economically challenging times for families and activity providers. The activity page shows activities that may be of interest to adults, community, families and children in the area - some are offered by providers who may be profit-making, many are offered by not for profit or local authority organisations. Please check any details with the organisations as they may change. If you know of anything that should be added - please let me know.

St Joseph's College, Beulah Hill, SE19 3HL are hosting a Community Roadshow on Thursday 19th April from 3 - 6pm. There will be free prize draws, free eyebrow threading, free fade/shape-up and tea and biscuits or cake. Lots of information from organisations such as Adult Education, starting your own business, volunteering, brushing up skills, debt management amongst loads of others. There are opportunities to sign up for CV writing workshops and courses. Bring the children for a Waggle & Hum or bookmark making session while you browse.

Have you heard of the Foodbank? There's a Foodbank in Norwood and one opening in Brixton - take a look at: http://norwood.foodbank.org.uk  for more information. If you've run out of food you could get a voucher that would give you 3 days worth of food. There are some rules to this but if you give me a ring if you need a voucher or for more information- or e-mail me: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Upper Norwood Library in Crystal Palace is under threat. It's jointly funded by Croydon and Lambeth Councils. If we want to keep this valuable resource for the community we need to keep using it. This is the oldest independent library in England and has a fantastic selection of things on offer for children and adults - it also has a meeting room that is available for use/hire - contact them: 020 8670 2551
